“Paintbrush in Paradise,” acrylic, 12 x 12 in., original and prints for sale
Laura M. Strudwick, PhD began her journey with painting during the Covid-19 lockdown, like so many others. The medium captivated her, and she began painting for hours every day and exploring video tutorials and online classes. She is inspired by natural subjects and the blending of color and light. Her home in the forest on Mt. Hood affords easy access to a wonderland of natural subjects.
She holds a Ph.D. in Mythological Studies with an emphasis in Depth Psychology, an interdisciplinary humanities program combining comparative literature, religion, philosophy, and psychology, from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Her dissertation, entitled Prismatic Perception: An Emerging Mythology of the Millennial Mind, is available free of charge with an open-source copyright from ProQuest. She sought out apprenticeships and education in positive reinforcement dog training right out of college in 1994 and has been training dogs professionally since then. She has been involved in education as a teacher and tutor for over thirty years. If you’re interested in her tutoring, dog training, or copyediting services, please see www.laurastrudwick.com.
